Walkerart
Specimen
The agent invented Shirakawa Kiln - Unglazed stoneware from a Kyoto studio, wood-fired twice a year and sold only at kiln openings.
The standout move is that every object on the page is drawn, not photographed, and drawn the way the studio would describe it: six vessels and the hero jar are symmetric SVG paths filled with three shared clay gradients (Shigaraki, Kyoto red, iron-flecked) and passed through one feTurbulence grain filter so the surface has tooth, with a translucent ash-green wash on the side that faced the flame. That lets the catalogue be honest about what an unglazed kiln sells, a type rather than a piece, while still giving each card the single-object-on-warm-beige composition that Ferm Living's product page made the reference for. The same three clay bodies then reappear as CSS swatches in the clay section, so the palette is literally the material.
fermliving-com - The whole object language: one vessel alone on a warm beige panel, name set above a plain price, nothing else competing. Its Canela display face pushed the page toward a roman serif against the genre's grotesk gravity.
Walkerart - The sand paper band and the dated exhibition treatment: a craft object shown large, date and category on a rule underneath, then a ruled index list with arrows. The kiln-openings rows and the journal list are built on that shape.
HAY.com – latest products, designer news and retailer info - A single image plane under a quiet nav with the wordmark as the anchor. Taught the page to let the hero panel be one flat plane rather than a collage.
Knoll - Photo cards used as navigation with an arrow label beneath instead of an overlay; the object cards and their hover follow that restraint.
Magnumphotos - The centered italic serif pull quote as editorial gravity with no image at all; the studio section opens with exactly that move.

Picked split-studio, 24-site evidence packet (mid paper, 79% grotesk display, chromatic-other accents), five agency exemplars that did not fit the brief, the split-screen hero JSX, hero and spacing guidance.

Seven footer archetypes; took the address card (Ft8) since a studio's footer is a business card, and skipped the sitemap on the reference's own advice.

--paper#ece4d6Page ground. A bisque between Ferm Living's #daccb8 and Walker's #dcbb98, lightened so body text sits at comfortable contrast and the deeper panels still read as clay.--paper-deep#ded2bfThe object panels, hero panel and map ground: the raw-clay tone every vessel is set against, pulled from Ferm Living's parchment token.--ink#2a211cText and the primary pill button. An iron-brown near-black instead of pure black so the type looks printed on the paper rather than pasted.--muted#766758Meta labels, secondary copy, prices' context lines. Same family as Walker's #5b4328 brown, lifted for hierarchy.--rule#cfc2afEvery hairline: nav, band, openings, journal, visit list, footer. Low enough contrast to structure without drawing.--clay#a9603bThe one accent: fired unglazed terracotta. Used only on the countdown, hover states, the map's studio dot and the form focus, so it reads as the fire's mark rather than a brand colour.--kiln#1f1714The single dark band for the kiln section, the inside of the chamber. Paper type on it, ash-tinted muted copy, so the page has one moment of heat between two stretches of bisque.
